The company was started on one simple principle: Get the best gear and information in the hands of active outdoor families. "We started this business because, as parents, we found it very difficult to find true quality outdoor gear for our kids, to maintain our own active lifestyle," states Peter Dean, President and founder. "We needed to find equipment and clothing that allowed our new additions to the family to feel safe, secure, and comfortable while participating in outdoor activities.”

"Our goal is to help motivate and enable parents to make that transition to the outdoors by providing real outdoor gear for kids." States Dean, "we want to make it easier for parents who were active before children to have the confidence to continue their healthy lifestyle with their new family."

The new store is tailored towards providing the best selection possible to outdoor families. "Being in Saratoga Springs is an incredible opportunity for Upside Over," said Cynthia Dean, Co-Founder. "It is a historic and cultural center that attracts outdoor families such as ourselves, while having close proximity to the Adirondacks and many other outdoor activity areas. It provides the perfect environment to test products prior to offering it in our store."  All the items stocked by Upside Over are tested by a host of outdoor families and their kids. Real life product evaluations help the Upside Over team to select the best gear for their customers. The companies' website and online store features advice on how to choose products in certain categories. The goal is to develop and grow a community of parents who can share experiences and information on gear and family outdoor recreation.

Upside Over Grand Opening is November 10th with the store opening at 10:00am and closing at 6 PM. The store hours are Monday through Saturday from 10AM to 6PM, Sunday from 11-5 PM.
