Packs for kids and teens are hard to find. Children should not be forced to wear adult packs with thick shoulder straps and ill-fitting harnesses and hipbelts. They just won't enjoy themselves! We have gathered a selection of the best kids day packs, hydration packs and backcountry packs on the market. In order to figure out which one is best for your child's hiking needs, the most important thing to do FIRST is to measure their torso. Tall children can have short torsos and short children can have long torsos! Most of our harnesses are adjustable within a range. To find the torso length, measure the child's back with a flexible tape along the contours of their spine from the top of their hip bones up to the C7 vertebrae or the prominent bone at the base of their neck. If you have any questions at all give us a call or chat with us on LiveChat! We love fitting packs! Note: kids should carry between 1/4 and 1/3 of their body weight depending on their age and strength!
